Running Deja Dup on Mageia 2

Postby jimtheplanner » Jun 11th, '12, 21:24

Hi Folks,
How do I access the back-up data I have on my portable hard drive. The data is encrypted via Deja Dup care of Ubuntu. I have Deja Dup installed on Mageia 2 however; when I run it I cannot type in my password as the password input box remains blank as a type....

I'm not sure if I need to run Deja Dup as root? If so what command do i need to use Konsole?

Thanks in advance....

I don't know this program, but it's possible that there is no visual feedback when typing the password.

Have you tried typing it, even if you don't see asterisks or anything, and accepting?
This is how password input usually works in the command line, after all. Maybe the Deja Dup developers did it this way too.

Hi jankusanagi,

Deja Dup is a neat backup programme that encrypts all your backed up data. I used it in Ubuntu however; when install in Mageia 2 KDE 64 I get a complete blank in the "Password" text box when I type in it initiate the "restore data". Trouble is I dont known how to make the text accept my keystrokes & password. This is not the end of the world for me as I have another backup only a week or so old that I can access...

Best regards
