[SOLVED] yakuake doesn't save settings

Postby madeye » May 29th, '12, 16:48

Like the subject says. I am unable to retain the settings of the window. I set it to 90%, but on next login it is back to standard settings.
Yakuake has a configuration file in ~/.kde4/share/config called yakuakerc. I've already made a change to make it not open the window on startup.

Now I would like to make the settings for the console height in this file, as I believe they are used when the program starts. But I can't find any info on what I need to enter in the file to get the behaviour I'm looking for.
The homepage for yakuake seems to be under contruction, so not much info can be found there either. There is no man page AFAICT. And google is not my friend on this ;)

Anyone know what need to be entered to make the console use 90% of the screen height?

You can also achieve that via window manager settings. Click the title bar -> Advanced -> Special settings for this window/program (depending if you want it only for that particular window, or for all yakuake windows) -> geometry and set the window size to what you prefer.

I am unable to get to the menu from the title bar, but going directoy through the system settings is possible. I have made a window rule for yakuake, and on the next login I will then see if it will remember it.

EDIT: That was a bad idea. I got a window in the right size, but the contents only used 50% of it. However after deleting that rule again it seems to work? For future reference the lines that need to be present in the yakuakerc file are
Code: Select all
[Window]
Height=90

Ah, sorry, it's a right-click on the title bar. Should work. But whatever, most important thing is that it's working now.
