In Mageia 2 there is now oxygen-gtk, which mimics KDE plasma oxygen look for GTK applications, as for example the Mageia Control Center and it's tools.
But as you wrote on your laptop now oxygen works for all your applications, isn't the problem solved?

But I don't know why it is needed in somme installs, not in others...
