hi, mageia buddies,
For anyone who is testing the mageia which It is a fork of the mandriva linux finds it difficult to install certain programs such as the non-free softwares for instance opera browser, sun java, adobe acrobat, etc ... But I tried a very easy solution that worked for me and I left the mageia "chubby". Just install the media available in the Mandriva Intenational Backports (easy urpmi) at http://urpmi.mandriva.ru/
If you Follow this clue you would install everything you need concerning non-free applications. This solution was tested bymyself and this solved my problems up! For the time being mageia does not have its own esyurpmi, this has been very helpful. with a simple download of urpmi at http://urpmi.mandriva.ru/
For the time being, I expect this solution might help the mageia users. I would like hear from you, if you tested too.
cheers.

PS: Attention to download at http://urpmi.mandriva.ru/ and not at http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ that did not work when I tested on mageia first.

The original idea of an equivalent for easyurpmi for mageia is still a sound one, or at least ONE reason.

The default Mageia setup seems to prefer to send me to repos with network pipes full of molasses.
It's only advantage is auto failover.
It seems to like ibiblio.org at the moment, which is sloooooow, anytime.

easyurpmi made it very easy to setup and import custom repo lists using only good/fast servers.
(relative to me)

EDIT--
Hmmm... It looks like there's a feature I missed in "configure media" in MCC...
It allows you to pull a full set of sources from a specific mirror.
Much mo betta.
