Cauldron upgrade failure

Cauldron upgrade failure

I am trying to upgrade to Cauldron, and simply followed the wiki. I am getting a failure here:

trying to urpme libpng3 wants to remove 603 dependent packages!

how do i get around this?

You should be taking this conversation
to the Testing : Alpha, Beta, RC and Cauldron
Section of this forum.

IMO I would not suggest "Upgrading" to Cauldron
as Cauldron ( Mageia 2 being developed ) is
not as of yet released.

In the words of our astute member doktor5000
"Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!"
And will do so on a regular basis.

Also IMO an initial install of Cauldron should
start with a blank drive. I use:

http://www.dban.org

Before the initial install.
"DISK BOOT FAILURE - INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

IMHO that's overkill, there's no need to wipe the drive to do a clean installation.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!
