[SOLVED] KDE doesn't start

Postby BGEuropeFan » Nov 11th, '11, 04:41

I have look high and low for a solution, but have found none. I have installed Mageia 1 64 bit from a dual arch iso, installing the KDE Desktop instead of the LXDE one. It has rebooted, but all I get is a command prompt instead of KDM. I can start KDM my logging in as root, and excuting "/etc/init.d/dm start" without any problems. This has happened on 2 different computers, with 2 different graphics cards (Nvidia Geforce 7000M, Intel i915). Mageia Control Center doesn't have dm checked for start on boot, and will not allow me to do it, and chkconfig says dm is set for runlevel 5 & 7. I've searched and searched but have not found any solution to this problem, and any help would be appreciated. So far I'm in love with Mageia, and may end up replacing my mom's Vista box with it if I can get this fixed. Keep up the great work!

EDIT: *double facepalm* I feel like a complete n00b now. My graphics server wasn't configured to start at boot. Thanks anyways!
