That's Not KWin! & Wayland/Weston Question

Hi,

I've been working on compiling the newest Compiz I could find. I then realized we may not need it with Weston/Wayland etc coming.

While reading Wikipedia was the first match so I went there. Look at the picture, top right, KWin Cube. Is it me or is that Compiz, not KWin?

Does anyone know how soon we will see impressive things from KDE/Wayland?

Yes that is kwin. It can do that since quite some time, probably since KDE4 was released integrated desktop effects do exist. Those originate from compiz, FWIW.
So that is already possible, only a question of configuration. You see the cube, with bottom and top caps, reflection on the ground and wallpaper in the virtual background.

@ozky: How is that related to frameworks? kwin is an application, and not part of frameworks.
