Huh, really? I've never used or seen ROSA desktop, but it's really just the "Glassified" theme + some standard widgets (folderview, note, comic and parley plasmoid). The launch menu is actually the classic one, as I only use it to launch seldomly used programs (which names I forgot) or to shut down the computer...

KDE
the launcher panel on the left auto hides
the bottom panel is the default cleaned up a bit
My wife & I share this 5 year old Notebook, the feature of kde picking up where it left off is essential, as the battery lasts about 10 minutes & the power cable gets unplugged from time to time

different tasks on different virtual desktops, the task manager only shows stuff from the active desktop
I've grown used to the icon only TM

Sober but nice Garthhh.
Just wonder, why you are still having the old Mageia-2-background.

I never see the desktop proper :D
utilitarian, practical
as my eyes degrade the size of the font becomes more important O(

Never mind, it still looks more desktop-like than the metro and rosa-kinds. ;)

This is my little netbook (1024x576) with a kde-minimal setup, using only applications I need for outside adventures (like travelling with Deutsche Bahn). Applications for photos, videos&music, communication (via webbrowser) and some tools.

As you see, a clear (old school) display of the necessities, without disturbing bells&whistles.

Since I am a man of tests, sometimes I have to uninstall and Mageia, I miss the lightness and stability of this system:

See if you can find the face in the image. This is an original image of mine.
You may use it if you so choose. I will also provide a link to the original
image for wallpaper if you wish.

Simple, yet greatly configurable and addictive as it has always been. Gnome3 or KDE4 can only dream about WindowMaker's usability combined with the footprint.
And the everlasting style.

Thx. I don't know how exactly it's called, I'll check out at home and try to find the link. I was in a search of some new walls and this was one of them, I see many emotions and stories behind it and even old Bitmap Brothers style in it, you know, guys behind Xenon 1-2, Speedball 1-2 or famous Chaos Engine 1-2 on Amiga. :)
Primarily though, it's like a demonstration of a complete devotion of one being to another in my eyes.

And to return the favor, I like your quote. But if you kill the mind (so to speak), all dimensions are transcended and you're all dimensions in one neverending moment, yet you're not. :)

Nice, unfortunately they do not seem to have a widescreen (16:9) version though.

Thanks for the link mk.
