Is linuxtoday gone?

Postby hansmicheelsen » Jul 5th, '19, 12:14

Hi

I've noticed, that for a rather long while I get an error when accessing http://www.linuxtoday.com:
Code: Select all
An error occurred while processing your request.

Reference #97.a79a645f.1562321366.152f509

My fear is that linuxtoday is dead and gone. Can anyone in this forum please refute that concern. I have had linuxtoday as my start screen since the former millennium a I would regret it a lot to miss that welcome.

I use this forum as I have no idea where else to ask

Interesting. When I acces linuxtoday.com on my mobile phone it works with cellular network (4g) but doesn't with wifi.
I guess my internet provider does not like linuxtoday.com

Just tried it here.

Works OK on my mobile and in Firefox on Mageia.

Doesn't work, with the same error, in Vivaldi browser on Mageia. I believe Vivaldi is Chrome based?

Just been looking at the link in the original post.

It's a plain http link.

When I convert it to an https link then it works fine in Vivaldi as well.

I've tried everything now. And also some other things. But still the same. I'll call my network provider on monday.

On the other hand I found an irritating behaviour in Konqueror. When I press ctrl+l to try another link combination (http, https, with www, without www, etc) it clears the input line. Is that really supposed to be that way?

I also get that error from time to time. Some times I get connections.
Just now I can't connect to linuxtoday.com.

Strange. I got a similar error. It seems that dns load balancing mechanism is buggy.
