No, it would not, as PS3 is PowerPC/Cell-based and not x86-compatible. That would be a port of the whole distribution
to ppc architecture, which is definitely not doable alone, especially when you don't know the basics.
Apart from that, you'd need a pretty old firmware to be able to boot a linux at all, IIRC it needs to be <= 3.21.
There are other linux distros which are already available for PS3, like Yellowdog Linux:
