macbook pro mageia 5

mageia 5 x86-64 DVD, dual boot with OSX
nvidia driver 340
broadcom bcm4322 wifi
macbook pro 2009 (late).

Finally solved boot fail by replacing boot parameter "splash quiet" with "nomodeset"

Replaced driver broadcom -ssb with broadcom -wl
WiFi seems slow to connect compared to OSX.

Bluetoothctl used to pair the Magicmouse. A lot of keystrokes to make it happen but now it works. Seems to need to be manually reconnected after reboot.

EFI Installation accomplished by not using rEFInd, but by using the "Option" key to select the boot device. (Wait for the DVD to spin up and the directory to be read. Select the EFI icon, not the "Windows legacy" icon.
Some clean-up to the EFI partition remains to be done.

Installed to previously created partitions. With Mageia 5 the 12 GB root partition is now fuller than I would like.

Cheers

Is there any question or issue to this, or why did you post this in support subforum?

Ahh, OK. Solutions or tips should go to the tips&tricks subforum viewforum.php?f=41
and maybe you should adjust the topic to say [SOLUTION] or so.

And thanks for sharing :)
