All the news is here:

It uses Chrome extensions, import Chrome Bookmarks and runs good so far.

To install go here:

Download your RPM and right click it, open with software installer. Couldn't be easier!

Sorry to put it that way, but apart from the marketing blah blah you linked to, what is the real improvement compared to chromium/chrome e.g.?

Well Dok, they say it is faster and I was hoping it allowed extensions that were not from the Chrome Store. It don't.

Also, I did figure out how to do it in Chrome and have been going to post it. The instructions for that are here:

http://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-templates

The one extension I care about and I can't find a replacement for is The Ultimate Youtube Downloader. I did get it installed and it allows you to download youtube videos as MP4's or an MP3 if you just want a song from a video.

Anyway, since I posted this I've spent quite awhile trying to set the extension policy and it doesn't work with the instructions for Chrome or Chromium.

I was hoping it would be a nice option without any hassle if Google started locking down Chrome even more. Before Chrome 35, you could just install the extension by dropping it on the Extension setting page in Chrome.

Hey, I figure the more options we have the better :)

What if you simply use Chromium instead of Chrome? Or some standalone app for youtube downloads?
On the other hand, I can't complain - Downloadhelper is working OK in firefox, and does all the conversion I need.
