[SOLVED] How can I enable the USB ports for a VirtualBox cli

I'm a little confused as to how to enable the systems
USB port(s) for a VirtualBox client. Here is the official
VBox support page to do it:

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch03.html#idp55431280

Unfortunately this does not seem to work. Some versions
in the past the Vbox supplied with Mandriva/Mageia did
not support this feature. Is this still the case?

You need to install the proprietary extension pack for the version of vbox that you are using: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/

Just download it and click on it and the vbox manager will install it, or it can be installed from File/Preferences/Extensions:
https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01. ... installing

USB devices attached to the host will then be listed under Devices when the guest is running. Select the device(s) that you want to attach to the guest. (As the manual warns, when you do this the device is no longer available to the host, until it is detached from the guest.)
