FWIW, here's the link to an x86_64 package for latest HandBrake 0.9.8 for Mageia 2, as multiple people asked me about it during the last few days:

Thank you for the handbrake package, I was having trouble installing it too, a while back.

Now I can go back and look at my project again...

Here you can find src.rpm which I created for new HandBrake 0.9.9:
http://depositfiles.com/files/7r9e0aiha
I tested it only for x86_64 arch and mga3.x86_64.rpm was built successfully.

Thanks for the gtk-autoconfig fix and patch :) - i've integrated them in my src.rpm and did some clean builds for 0.9.9 via iurt:

x86_64: http://dfiles.eu/files/c019kon0y
i586: http://dfiles.eu/files/zgr7guxjb
src.rpm: http://dfiles.eu/files/hknkw38ph

Thanks a lot for this good work, works very well.
Just for my understanding, I compiled the src.rmp and it succeed but when I tried to use it with x264, I had the message that gstreamer plugins for h264 and aac codecs were missing.
How did you do to have them included in the binary rpm ?
Thanks a lot

Do you have the tainted repositories enabled?

Yes they are, but what I don't understand is that if there is a tainted version for the gstreamer rpm, there's no tainted version for lib64gstreamer and lib64gstreamer-devel rpms.
I've to say I used pjovanovic src rpm.
what I did to build the rpms was installing the required packages :
# urpmi lib64bzip2-devel lib64dbus-devel lib64fontconfig-devel lib64freetype2 lib64freetype2-devel lib64dbus-glib lib64fribidi-devel lib64gstreamer1.0-devel lib64gstreamer-plugins-base1.0-devel intltool lib64ass-devel lib64gudev1.0-devel lib64notify-devel lib64ogg-devel lib64samplerate-devel lib64theora-devel libtool lib64vorbis-devel subversion lib64webkitgtk1.0-devel yasm
then rebuild :
rpmbuild --rebuild handbrake-0.9.9-1.mga3.src.rpm
Thanks for your attention !

Well, can't really say for the other package, it included some BuildRequires which are not really necessary/used by Handbrake.
Also normally you just use urpmi --buildrequires nameofspec.spec or urpmi --buildrequires nameofsrc.rpm.src.rpm.

I have just tried downloading the 32-bit binary and the link is dead! :(

Due to copyright violation ... WTF? But the x86_64 one still works ... I'll reupload it.

EDIT: You can't even upload anymore without an account. Do you have something where i can upload it?

Just got around to it again, and built an updated version, 0.9.9.1 after fixing the build issues encountered on Mageia 4.
Also needed to fix the aggressive optimzations with gcc 4.8 which lead to a segfault with x264. Will upload it once I've tested that again,
and built the i586 version.

FWIW: Christophe, one of the newer packagers was quite busy and pushed handbrake 0.10 without faac to cauldron, so it should be available in Mageia 5.
