Why do you need to upgrade grub ?
Do you mean :
- upgrade grub for new kernel ?
- upgrade grub to boot other OSes
- upgrade grub to a newer version ?
If it is the 1st or second point, you should go to MCC startup > configure the startup manager (sorry for the bad translation, I use Mga in french).
This tool is a graphics backend to configure grub.
