Originally I upgraded to Mageia 3, months ago but I had problems, so I downgraded to 2, but my biggest problem the slowness to react, the drowsiness, a very discomfiting woolliness of the GUI almost as if you made an mouse click or command on the keyboard and the OS thought about it then complied. but 2 had the same symptom when you downgraded just keeping the /home. I use a rage 128 display card surely my hard ware is adiquite if on the low side I had to format the whole drive and rebuild it with 2 to clear.( very cleaver, that's almost like a self-replicating virus.) very clever as it is only slowing it enough to be annoying

But you don't want to tell which problems you encountered with Mageia 3, so others could help you with those?

The other problems have all been resolved by the updates from when I first installed it so I didn't think I needed to mention them.
I only mentioned the one that was left.
If you all think that the woolliness is due to my hardware not being up to running Mageia 3, fine I'll stick with 2, but I thought the way the woolliness symptom carried over back to 2 was unusual and needed mentioning.

I've ordered some new kit, but in the meanwhile I'm using an Aspire one. This Aspire one runs Mageia 1 but, the Kmail has 14 emails, Kmail won't open, possibly some important emails are stuck in there. The start page is greyed out you can ask for details, the log has errors in. I could download Mageia 2 586i and install it, but this kit is much to limited. HOW DO I PURGE THE LOG?

Please create a separate thread for the Mageia 1/kmail issue.
