I downloaded Mageia two days ago; kde x64 live dvd. I tried it on my machine which had openSUSE on it and loved it straight away. I installed it straight away and booted into the most beautiful desktop I've seen. I struggled with compiz only to remove it completely and use KDE 4.10 3d effects.... gorgeous. I love the control centre and the configurability available; with one un-tick I could disable Pulseaudio which never works with my M-audio soundcard. I could even rectify my mess up of incorrectly pointing GRUB to the correct partition to boot windows. Lovely!
What more can I say. I'd heard the rumours about Mageia and they're correct. This is a truely quality distro and I'm looking forward to learning your package manager urpmi. One thing though what is the correct pronunciation of Mageia?
