[SOLVED] have a problem at upgrading from mandriva to mageia

there is two was to upgrading from mandriva to mageia

the first one is from cd

the second one is from mirrors

i have a problem at the second one

after i reach this command step

urpmi.addmedia --distrib $PROTOCOL://path/to/Mageia/$ARCH

i wrote this

urpmi.addmedia --distrib $ftp://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/mageia/distrib/1/$i586

and i got this

unable to access the distribution medium (no media.cfg file found)
unable to add medium

soooo strange why it works with mandriva repo like this one

ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pu ... rent/i586/

so is there any suggestion here about it

The instructions can be rather confusing.
$PROTOCOL = ftp or http
path/to/Mageia/ you have right
$ARCH = i586 or x86_64

So

urpmi.addmedia --distrib ftp://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/mageia/distrib/1/i586

or

Code: Select all

urpmi.addmedia --distrib ftp://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/mageia/distrib/1/x86_64

depending on your architecture should work.
