ATi Graphics?

I and several others have had to install Mageia 2, then boot into safe mode, run XFdrake, switch to the VESA driver before rebooting, going to the mcc and eventually getting the proprietary driver. This only happens to one of my machines and no longer bothers me but it is likely to be a deterrent to newcomers. I wondered if this feature had been considered during the Mageia 3 process?

Funnily enough, Mageia 3 beta 2 now seems to install Catalyst without asking, which is great but caused me some confusion as I thought radeon had suddenly got better overnight.
