menu for dolphin

Running Mageia 2 i586 KDE 32 bit - updated

Dolphin file manager doesn't have the usual menu showing - File, Edit, etc.

I looked at configuring Dolphin but didn't notice anything to turn on a menu. What and where did I miss it?

Is very simple: see tips in MageiaBrasil Forum

1 - After you install Mageia 2, to access the Dolphin so it comes without the menu. To add the menu, clicking the tool icon in the upper right of the Dolphin

2 - To add the menu, clicking the tool icon in the upper left of the Dolphin and select the last option highlighted in yellow: "Show menu bar":

Or use in dolphin CTRL+M.

FWIW, this is the new clean default dolphin look since quite some time:

As as we don't deviate that much from upstream defaults, you might not have noticed on other distros yet ...

Thanks for the info. I read the link. Guess I haven't been running a kde distro with the Dolphin menu missing until Mageia. Since I like the menu, I will re-activate it.
