With the release of Firefox 15 they have adopted the silent update like Chrome have been doing and this would seem to solve the issue with Firefox 10 ESR being out of date for some users and admins wishing not to keep adding updates as another idea...

Yes?

Cheers,

Firefox ESR is not out of date, and we will stay with ESR branch until next ESR release comes out.
For all others who want "newer", just get the tarball, extract it and adjust your firefox launcher. Then you can also have automatic updates,
which are not possible with the packaged version - in either case, even a packaged Firefox 15 wouldn't change anything.

FYI - Cauldron always has the latest Mozilla releases as well...
