You are always free to get your version from Mozilla.

Firefox 10 is a LTS release, thought to have extended support and be very stable. Why you need that version?.

Maybe you want to have a look at viewtopic.php?p=18607#p18607
they seem to offer Firefox 12 in their repo. But be aware those packages are unsupported by Mageia and may not be of the same quality as Mageia packages.

Thank you all for replying. I just want the new firefox version because of some minor new features but i can live without them. Maybe some day we can have both the ESR and the latest version in the repos. Thanks again and sorry for the late reply.

Sorry for my english.

If you want a new version that will update itself each release you can take ownership of the file from root and make it your default browser.

log in as root, su -
(your password)

then:
mkdir /usr/lib/firefox-13
chown (your user name here) /usr/lib/firefox-13

Download the new release of firefox (It is 13 for Windows, I guess the same for Linux.) Extract it, install with rpm or copy it into the above folder. (Depends on if zip, rpm or all files unzipped.) Change the attributes of the launch bar icon to point to your new Firefox command file. Enjoy. Whenever they offer a new release it will upgrade each time as if it was in Windows without making you look for the upgrade.

Cheers,

Why so complicated? Just extract it somewhere in your /home directory and create/adjust a launcher ...

I've firefox 13 on mandriva 10.0
I copied the oldfirefox folder in /usr/lib and name it firefox *.*.*.old, deleted all the files in the original.
Extrated the tar.bz2 and placed the files in the empty original directory.
Gues what it works and everybody can uses firefox 13

You have to be root of course

Mandriva 10 was good looking software. Perhaps it might be good to move to a newer release for update reasons? Just a thought...
