Fifteen? years ago I tried Redhat, failed. A couple years passed. Next try Suse: half OK, Mandrake better, but Lindows was my first Linux production system, but not fully.
2006 i had another round, ditched redmond and used Mandriva privately and in my work, except for dual boot laptop to run a couple WinXP apps.
Since then Mandriva have just worked. Tried ubuntu but found it "thin" then and it lacked some configuration automation at the same time i could not figure out how to do whatever it was manually. Stayed with Mandriva and i still do - it feels like it have just been renamed Mageia, while the new "Mandriva" have changed course

At home & work Mandriva since 2006, Mageia 2011. Thinkpad T43, T510, Dell M4400, M6300, Acer Aspire 7. Workstation using LVM, LUKS, VirtualBox
