LiveCD installer should include option for minimal install.

Mageia LiveCD installer include options for remove unused languages and remove drivers for unused hardware but doesnt offer basic stuff (in my opinion) like minimal instalation. LiveCD installer should include this option like in Ubiquity installer. Maybe someone can add this feature before mga9 has been released ?

Mageia already offer net-install ISO. and Classical Install ISOs

they can be used for just this function should you desire.

You can uninstall (and install, configure...) on the Live, then run the Live installer to replicate it.
If persistence is enabled it will remember and let you install to several machines.
You can also spin your own Live https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Persistent_l ... m_Live_ISO

I know i can use Classical installer for do that but
1. LiveCD is more easy to use
2. LiveCD saves our time, less options during install
3. LiveCD allow to check the os is working fine on our PC.
Classical Installer is better for server installation. If it doesnt require so much work it would be nice to see minimal installation option in LiveCD in future.

You contradicting yourself. You say less options, but now you want more? This doesn't make sense, the live installation is to get the user up and running with minimal effort.
If you want a custom install, then use the regular install media.

In LiveDVD installer we have avaiable two options now after installation:
1. Remove drivers for unused hardware
2. Remove support for unused languages

It would be nice to see two additional options in LiveDVD installer, before starting installation process:
3. Minimal Installation
4. Download updates during installation

Yes. I can use the Classical installer and customize my packages selection. I can uncheck all packages and check task-x11 and task-gnome-minimal. But im always confused maybe i unchecked some important packages ? Maybe should i quit "individual packages selection" and simpy check GNOME station button ? Or maybe should i go to "individual packages selection" and check GNOME button there ? Friend of my father used this way when he installed us mandriva 2006 17 years ago. Now we have 2023 year and it would be nice Mageia is simply to install like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Manjaro, PCLinuxOS (yes it offers mini iso). Its just my point of view from user perspective and these two options are very important in my opinion and if someone know how to add them to LiveDVD installer and has the desire to do it would be very nice. Maybe simply debloat LiveDVD media because is too bloated. Much more packages than in Ubuntu. I think Manjaro FULL ISO is less bloated than Mageia Live media. Option for installing updates during system install (LiveDVD) is important too to avoid installing tons of updates on fresh system. Its avaiable on mageia classic installer and on other distros, ubuntu for example - I mean install newer packages during system installation, no updating old packages after system installation. This is just my suggestion and wish. Thanks for reading this and happy new year for everyone.

items #1 & #2 are performed during the installation.

regarding #3:
morgano wrote:You can uninstall (and install, configure...) on the Live, then run the Live installer to replicate it.

this is absolutely correct, and unable to be performed by the *buntu derivatives.
The Mageia Lives allow you to customise completely your Live desktop environment; removing packages and adding packages, that you the User want in the final installation.
Should you so desire you can also update your system before installation. see Mageia Control Centre for this.
These functions are limited to the capacity of hardware; 32bit =4GBram
Then the Live installer *takes a snapshot* of your set up and copies it as the installation. *not really a snapshot, but probably the best description*
If you have enabled persistence, as morgano has alluded to, all changes are retained should you want to install to multiple identical machines.

regards #4.
the option to upgrade packages is already offered at the end of the installation.

if you really have your heart set on wanting these changes, you would best create a bug report: enhancement request for the Live installation

for #4, you can also update before installation.

As i wrote in my previous post, haveng persistence enabled is very good, so the updates and cinfigurations etc are perserved.
- I.e to install to more computers without needing to download again :)

I installed Mageia on my and my family hardware using classical installer. Just pressed "uncheck all" button and chosed "task-x11", "task-gnome-minimal" from individual packages selection and rest of my software from rpmdrake when my OS was installed. I might not enter to "individual packages selection" and simpy uncheck all stations and keep only "gnome station" but then "icewm" and "xdm" are installed and it irritates me. I dont like this way cause sometimes im little nervous about package selection - maybe uncheck all button can remove some security important packages etc. Thats why i like "more ready to use" live images with minimal installation option. It was my suggestion only for make life easier. I can use Mageia without that. Thank You for the tips.

sorry that this irritates you.
Mageia offers a fall-back display manager (xdm for a Gnome DE install) and a simple DE (iceWM ) in case your primary DM / DE system fails due to update or user error.
You are certainly able to remove them, but, in the grand scheme of things, they take up a very small amount of partition space, and having a backup method for desktop access is handy. In all likelihood, you will never need to use either, but Mageia does try to make life easier for her users.

you can check to see if the irritating packages are using any resources apart from partition space.

Thats why i chosed only "task-x11" and "task-gnome-minimal" from individual packages selection but i know what about You talking beacuse when i used Ubuntu for example - during upgrade to new release using GUI i had GDM crashes and i saw only white screen with message about crash. Only right way to upgrade Ubuntu to new version is in "tty" and on "init 3" or atleast with GDM disabled. Fedora release upgrade tool is perferct in my opinion. Ok, topic to closed. I only wrote my suggestion about new features in Live installer.
