My old netbook is happy with it.
Only downside so far is that Chromium 89 (32 bit) can not log in into Google. So if I want to check my gmail I use Firefox (32 bit) to log into Google.

Hi all,

I run 32 bit on an old Acer Aspire One NetBook, one of the really small ones with an Atom CPU and 1 1/2 GB of RAM. It is slow but works well otherwise. I am guessing support here will be like other distros and end next April? After that I guess it will make a good book reader with FB Reader.

I dont think 32 bit support end any time soon.

I have an Aspire One D260. A friend dumped it on me, it was unusably slow running MSWin 7. Reinstalled it with Mageia 8 64 bit xfce. Not better.

How can this dual core 64 bit crap perform much *slower* than my elder single core 32 bit Thinkpad T43?!

I am pondering installing it to 32 bit. and/or usee server kernel flavour for lower task switchin load (Hz 100 instead of 1000) But no time to play.

It is my understanding that all development for 32 bit kernels ends in April 2023. After that the software will not have updates. Am I wrong in this thought?

Can you provide source? Kernel will be developed for 32-bit for very long time. We will continue to provide 32-bit packages and install media for at least (and probably much more) Mageia 9 release.

Trying to match April 2023, the best match seems to be Ubuntu 18.04 LTS ends support then. Another distro also appears to say April 2023 due to being based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I'm guessing this is where the 2023April endpoint comes from.
Meanwhile, Debian mentions 2026 for 32bit.
