hey, I've been wondering about this. its not really a big issue, but in my opinion it makes the OS look a little more "complete" and less generic. anyone else agree?

I agree here, but, with a big condition :
The KDE logo must looks like the original one (blue square). Look and Mdv's dark blue star, it doesn't integrate well with KDE icons.

Sooner or later, the Icon will be replaced I think. For the moment, the (very small) artwork team has other tasks to manage before.
Till then, you are welcome to make some proposals and we will discuss them

I also wishest that the gnome foot button will be replaced with a Mageia logo.
