Removig apps - dependency trouble ?

Postby salebih » Sep 12th, '11, 18:01

Hi,

I like minimalist desktop, with only apps that I really need, so naturally after installation of Mageia KDE I wanted to remove 99% of those apps, and I feel like whatever I try to remove it pulls down KDE with it :S :(

I was wondering is it KDE's problem or Mageias or ?

Is there a way to make "Mageia light" version ?

Actually KDE is shipped with a lot of "KDE applications" (basically all the applications which begin with "k").

You can uninstall applications like Inkscape, Firefox, Lokalize, etc.
Still, some KDE applications can be uninstalled without uninstalling KDE, like the KDE games.

Well, IIRC, in Gnome you have Gthis Gthat too. And quite a bunch of them :)
