core/backports_testing conflicts with core/updates

Postby bertaerts » Sep 12th, '11, 13:02

In both Mageia 1 repo's there is the same filename but with diffferent properties:

/mirror/mageia/distrib/1/x86_64/media/core/backports_testing/
mozilla-thunderbird-3.1.12-1.mga1.x86_64.rpm 9131728 07/09/2011
/mirror/mageia/distrib/1/x86_64/media/core/updates/
mozilla-thunderbird-3.1.12-1.mga1.x86_64.rpm 9130985 19/08/2011

A side effect is that in the graphical update manager there is no rpm selected.
But when exiting this window, I get the message that files are selected.

Please clean up!

Don't get that message here. BTW, you don't need to have backports enabled to install backports via GUI.
You can install them via rpmdrake by selecting "Backports" as filter. Also the graphical update manager (mgaapplet)
only displays packages from repositories marked as "updates" and backports are by default no marked as updates and not enabled.
Did you change that?

But thanks for the report, the package seems to be landed there accidentaly.

Yes, I adapted the repo's with "update" in /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg :-)
