Are Mageia online systems susceptible to an unwanted intrusion similar to the recent "problem" experienced by Linux Mint?

Well, you could ask if any system on the internet may possibly be susceptible to unwanted intrusion ...
What sort of answer do you expect?

The correct answer is yes.

I was going to suggest you could volunteer for the QA and Atelier teams..... Then I seen who OP was :) I know Benmc is in QA at least.

Like any system, all you can do is smart passwords, key only login where possible, and update, update, update. Mint says it happened through the wordpress site, ask any host support, WP is brilliant, but it's also a nightmare. The hackers love it.

Same applies for phpbb. Or any other widespread similar software.

Mint's forum was also breached, and this is the real problem because forum user credentials were exposed.

Mint used PHPass for password hashing, and it is known that this cracked ( https://github.com/micahflee/phpass_cra ... ter/README )

It is a problem when known vulnerabilities are not patched.
