Would it be possible to offer an alternative init during installation (as an option), perhaps, BSD style init (aka Slackware) or OpenRC (Gentoo) or SysV? Is Mageia tied to systemd, or is their "wiggle room"?

Regards!

You're free to offer whatever init system you like for Mageia. We can only support one.
