[DONE] Mageia 4 and sound applications

Postby ycollet » Feb 3rd, '14, 13:34

Hello,

I have installed mageia 4 and I am quite disappointed: a lot of applications which where present in mageia 3 are absent of mageia 4.
For example:
- guitarix
- all the ladspa plugins
- all the lv2 plugins
- all the dssi plugins
- jalv (lv2 plugin "player" from drobilla)

Is there any reason for that ?

Best regards

YC

Well, searching via http://mageia.madb.org the following packages where not available for Mageia 3 via official Mageia repositories:

- guitarix and jalv
short search via pkgs.org suggests that at least guitarix is available from the russian MRC community, jalv is available as RPM for Fedora if you want to try that.
http://pkgs.org/search/?query=guitarix&type=smart
http://pkgs.org/search/?query=jalv&type=smart

- what are "all the ladspa plugins" There are still the same *ladspa* packages available as for Mageia 3. Same applies for lv2 and dssi plugins

(ufn is a short form for urpmf -f -m --name)

OK thanks.
Sorry I think I remember I compiled guitarix myself.
But for the plugin problem, yes the LV2 / LADSPA / DSSI package are present, but the are no plugins in the mageia repo.
For example, invada, amb, cmt are not present.
Ardour and audacity, without plugins, it's not really interesting to use.

Please read my comment again: compared to Mageia 3 there were no changes to those plugins. So if you miss something, please report that as a package request, after searching if it hasn't been reported yet already: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_repor ... ge_request

FWIW I do have plugins in audacity.

No, they are separate. I've simply installed the ladspa package and lib64vamp-plugin-sdk2
