Hi
Is it impossible or possible to have a PPC build of Mageia.? There are a lot of mac G5 and g4 owners with computers either now gathering dust, or serving purpose as no more than itunes music players, It would be really nice to have a Linux distro that actually works with these machines. If you own a G5 and have tried putting Linux on its pretty frustrating. The problem not even Debian can solve, is how to make the video drivers work. mint PPC fails here as well with one contributor to their forums really trying hard to solve issues but still does not work. fedora no better. Ubuntu despite issuing PPC builds no longer have a server to network download. Debian are trying hard but still the video issues persist. i have a Debian 7.1 installed that is just a shell - not very exciting.
Now if we look back in time Mandrake ( mageia's grandmother ! ) tried getting a PPC version working with mac G4 and G5 but still the same video issues. Typically what you see is a blank screen. So there is rpm code for this, but it needs some polishing. It will need some indication of need for a PPC build - so I put my hand up.
Thanks
