Yet another upgrade adventure...

I started using Mageia at the first release. I had a heck of a time updating to Mageia 2, but eventually got things working. Most recently I had troubles upgrading to Mageia 3 and nearly left this distro behind! I'm not sure the cause of my troubles, but it seemed like an appropriate time to do a 'fresh' install.

After the broken upgrade to 3 left me confused and disheartened and left my pc a useless heap of rubble I decided to install a different distro (shame on me). After a couple of hours I decided to just download the Mageia 3 LiveCD and do a brand new install. Those other distros just don't cut it for me now that I've been spoiled by Mageia! I now have most of my software re-installed and some things work much better than they did on Mageia 2 - and some things that didn't work there do now!

I don't know how I created such an unholy mess before, but I am glad to have Mageia back in running order. There are still a couple of minor issues that I can't seem to solve just yet, but I'm almost certain that they are related to me using fluxbox because they don't arise if I load Gnome. Thank you once again, Mageia Team, for making the linux best suited to my needs! I think from now on I'll save myself these hassles and just upgrade from the disc in the future.
