upgrding from mandriva 2009

Postby wsams » Jun 10th, '11, 02:35

I need to upgrade a computer remotely that has mandriva 2009 on it and has a dual boot with windows XP
has anyone tried upgrading to mageia 1 from anything earlier than mandriva 2010?

Can anyone say outright that it wont work?

any recommendations are very welcome.

I have successfully upgraded 4 of my machines already from mandriva 2010 and IMHO there is now only one distro of linux Mageia is it

Thank you

Upgrading from 2009 was not tested. I haven't seen any reports from anyone who has tried it and so I don't think that it can be said that it won't work - it may. As with any upgrade you need to have a "Plan B" in case it doesn't.

It may work but I would advise a fresh install.
