As stated on Mageia blog, Alpha 2 is out. We look for your tests !

- list of included softwares in isos and repositories: if you see missing one explaining why we should add it on http://bugs.mageia.org
- upgrade from Mandriva Linux 2010.1 and 2010.2**: our target is to have easy upgrade for final release. Tests are really important. Please have a look on http://mageia.org/wiki/doku.php?id=qa_upgrade
- hardware detection: test your hardware configuration and report any bugs on it
- installation process: use Alpha2 isos to test Mageia installer following

I installed Mandriva 2009 on a test machine, upgraded it to 2010.2, and then migrated it to Mageia, using repositories (not DVD), and it went pretty well

This about 2 weeks ago, little after alpha2 had been released. I just have about ~30 "mdv" packages now.

Mageia is starting to shine

Hi!

Upgraded from 2010.2 to Mageia Alpha 2 using the distrib-coffee repos (without testing) by editing urpmi.cfg. Did an urpmi --auto-update (under X ).

It works. Fast and stable. Only one little issue: The tag editor of rhythmbox doesn't work sometimes ... Ah, and Gnome seems to start a little bit slow. But that was it.

Overall a great success!

yes beta1 will be available this afternoon, including 2 live CDs

You can use the alpha2-dvds as live-system.
Do you mean something like "Mandriva One"?

oh ,not that ,what i mean about is "mageia-dual-1-Beta1.iso"
