Mageia Releases

Postby R_Head » Apr 19th, '14, 16:04

I have question or maybe is a suggestion.

Why Mageia is not a rolling distro?

I have mixed success with updates from one version to the next.

Simple answer: Because it isn't.
Has already been discussed before, check viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23

If you want a rolling release, you could use Cauldron.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!

Agreed. There's always a trade-off between stability and having the latest, hottest stuff.

Mageia tends to favor stability, which I like. Mageia's the first-ever Linux distro that I've been able to use for over a year, that uses my hardware to its full potential without burning out the processors. :D
