Would be nice if both of them of them would be installed by default. If not by default when your browser needs them(or any other plugins) have the package manager pop up and install them like SUSE does. I think K/Ubuntu does also.

Here is what I am talking about if anyone is unsure

I seem to remember getting a notification just like that when I first opened firefox after a new install of Mageia 1.

One hopes not, at least unless they ship Flashblock by default too.

I also think it would be nice to ship with Flash by default. The pop up I believe is only for RHEL, openSUSE and Ubuntu, as can be seen here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/

under platform system requirements. Most like they had some money exchange going on between these three large companies and Adobe.

But to include it to be installed by default would probably be easy. I think Mint does that, no?

Maybe there are licensing problems.
But it can be cool if, when the non free repo is enabled, firefox can detect the missing plugins and install them with (g)urpmi.

Flash currently installs amazingly easily... around 3 clicks for me in Firefox today.

Obviously Flash is in direct conflict with the philosophy behind GNU/Linux -- as it has a restrictive license from it's owners -- and should not be installed by default. If it were pre-installed, Mageia could no longer be called open.

Well, but we could at least have a working FLOSS flash plugin by default, like lightspark or gnash.
