New version of R

Postby Gelsenbury » Nov 19th, '13, 10:15

I hope this is the correct forum for this request.

Could someone with the required skills please package the new version of R (http://cran.r-project.org) for Mageia? The current version is 3.0.2, the version in the Mageia repos is 2.15.3.

I think this would be a good package to update because R is becoming more popular in the sciences and social sciences. Also, the R-commander (Rcmdr) GUI - useful for those who are not used to the command line yet, and recommended in several books that I've seen - is not available for version 2.15.3.

Thank you!

Version upgrades are usually only provided with a new release of Mageia. Mageia 4 will have R-base-3.0.2.

Beta 1 of Mageia 4 is available for testing:

Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!
