Mageia needs more robust faster peformance.

Postby seagoat » Jun 23rd, '13, 16:56

The Mageia operating system needs faster more robust performance for both PC user and server platforms. Better malware and virus protection. More wall paper desktop choices and screen saver choices as well. Higher performance audio and video options for gaming, and robust business applications for business solutions of all sizes.

Most people here are quite happy with the performance. And how should better malware and virus protection look like?
We offer clamav, rkhunter, chkrootkit and msec, the Mageia security framework and configuration tool is installed and enabled by default.
There are quite some wallpapers installed by default, and others can be installed if you want. For a default install, we also have to consider
users who don't have that much space available.

The points you mentioned, how do you think they could be achieved in particular?

Hey, while we're at it; I think the world should be a better place, kittens should never grow up and ice cream should be free when the temperature is above 80. (F)

That would make it free nearly year round for me. I would be very fat. Bad idea. :)

Which one exactly? The one about performance, malware protection, more artwork, performance, robustness, kittens or icecream?

Certainly icecream!
But I also go for breakfast and pizza. Whether I like kitten depends on how they are served.

Like a colleague of mine - he also says he likes kitten. :) If they are well-steamed or properly fried ... :x

Nobody liked my comments about Mageia? Everybody made jokes about it. That's how the world turns. Can I ask, what brand of ink jet printers support Mageia?

Please seagoat, use a new topic for every other issue.

But for your question about printers, have a look at:
