Would maybe a Fluxbox spin of Mageia be a good idea?

Hiya! Just signed up here. Also, just outta curiosity, as a way to help users that have older hardware out, like users who have Pentium 4's, for example, would maybe putting a Fluxbox spin of Mageia out there to download be a good idea at all? I mean it would result in a really lightweight spin of the OS designed for older hardware, especially if you equip that particular spin with Thunar as the file manager, Dillo as the default browser, and SLiM as the login manager.

Just a suggestion for the people who have old hardware, or just prefer minimalist distros.

Also, to make Fluxbox easier to use, I'm sure Docky or some other dock would help out there.

As with all the other spin requests, quite hard to do with our current ressources and QA team workload.
But you always have the option to just do a minimal install via the dualarch cd, and post your package selection for others to reuse it.

You can go for Openbox. That is real lightweigt and highly configurable. you do not need a "spin" for that just remove the bloat and instal openbox. You might want to use gdm as a login manager.

Or Openbox with SLiM as the login manager or no login manager at all. :) Logging in at the shell and typing startx works just as well as logging in with GDM or SLiM.

Fluxbox is my lightweight manager of choice. (IMHO both Fluxbox and Blackbox are much nicer than Openbox.) I installed Fluxbox1.3.2-3.mga2 and use it, Razor-QT or KDE with Mageia Cauldron. I also agree that a Fluxbox or Blackbox spin would be a welcome addition when the time and resources become available.
