remember opened files from last sesion

Postby djmarian » Jun 1st, '11, 18:28

Hy,

Someone just didn't know what to do with an error and turned off my pc.

Is there a way to just remember what files i left opened before switching users (or even shunting down) and reopen the files when i log back in?

Session management in "Configure your Desktop" gives as default:
Restore previous session
If this option is checked, KDE will save your current session's state when you logout. KDE will restore your session on the next login, so you can continue to work with a desktop just like you left it.

Didn't test it, but it sounds like...

i use faster desktop environments, lxde, xfce, ice

it would be nice just to see my pdf's, pidgin, opened folders back when i log back in, chromium reopens my web pages....

nothing expensive on resources

I think that there is no way for these desktops to restore the session. At least on LXDE, I have test, and I found nothing graphically.
But you can write a script that to this ... :?

thank you for the idea
unfortunately i don't know how to write scripts
so if someone thinks i have a good idea, he/she should write the script and package it (or something like that)

off-topic: whatever i knew about qbasic, pascal, java, actionscript 2 or xhtml (and i assure you it was little) is now in archives because i am translating something about chemistry for the last 5 years
