During Installation: Summary screen

Postby dvwallin » Aug 11th, '12, 14:59

The one thing i really did miss during the installation of Mageia 2 were a Summary screen before the installation started. I would love to be presented with a screen telling me how the installer will partition and which packages will be installed - asking for my approval before the actual install starts. Being a fulltime Linux-user since 1998 - and having tried most versions of the big distros over the years - i was pretty sure what would be installed but It would've served as a nice assurance before actually performing the install.

Just a brief suggestion which I hope will be considered.

Seems you are talking about the live cd installer?

Otherwise what you are asking for, is exactly what the normal installer currently does. For documentation please have a look at http://doc.mageia.org/

No i haven't tried the LiveCD :-)
I've only used the netinstall and the DVD 64bit (http://www.mageia.org/en/downloads/get/ ... &torrent=1) and did not get a summary screen that required confirmation to initiate the actual install. I did get a really nice summary-screen at the very end asking if i wanted to configure anything before ending the installation.
