Bugsquad is hiring

Hi there!

You are using Mageia and you like it?
You see Mageia popularity growing and you would like it keeps going on that way?
You think Mageia could be even more better than it is?

You can help us then :). Bugsquad is hiring people? Please have a look on https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Bug_Squad. If you think you can give some minutes, hours or days, please ping leuhmanu or marja by mail or on IRC, they are waiting for you.

False things about triaging bugs

- I need to be a guru: not at all, people will help you to start with and work is large enough to find something that will fit you
- Triaging is boring: not at all again :). Triaging can put you in contact with all the people making Mageia, packagers team but also doc team, designers... It's a very good way to learn how Mageia is made and maybe become QA testers, packagers...
- Triaging is not that important: wrong! Triaging is essential so that bug reports can be properly handled. The quality of Mageia is linked to this.

We are waiting for you! :)

Cheers

You don't install bugzilla, you access it at.

Bugzilla is in the packages, so I suppose that misled Voodoo. That is for running your own bugzilla, Voodoo.

Hi, I'm wondering if bugsquad is still hiring? I'm looking to pick up a part-time position online. Currently am in Scotland visiting, but am a U.S. citizen (soon to obtain visa for Scotland).

Thanks.

Great news. As a member of i18n team I'm sure than contributors are always welcome.

I may jump in, I am always testing junk out.
But have no programming skills so I am not sure how that will work

Neither for contribution to bugsquad or QA team programming skills are required ;)

Cool.
So i guess that its just bug reporting in general, that I can do.
I can even install Mageia 5 beta 1 in virtualbox or something and run some heavy tests (I donmt want the beta on my main machine as I dont want it to interfere with my enjoyment of Mageia 4)

Edit: okay how about I install beta 1 on the side of Mageia 4 and use like linux mint as a fallback

several QA testers use Virtual machines to test, so that option is certainly open to you.

Others use multi-partition setups with multi-boot [ 5 bootable systems for me- M4 32+64, M5 32+64, and M4 again as my everyday system ]. this method requires care when reinstalling systems, to make sure the boot-loader gets set up correctly.
If you are comfortable with this method, you can certainly use this one.
different setups result in different test outcomes.

hope this helps.
just add your name to your preferred team.

regards

Cool, I am still thinking this over but it does seem like a cool thing to do.
