Hi
If I could suggest something for Mageia 3 or 4 it would be a redesigned interface for the package manager. The package manager is already fast for searching but its the left hand side that isn't that great to me.

I just don't like it as it feels old(was Mandriving b4 Mageia), I cant really find a reason to complain as i've always found what mwa'z been looking for and I have no suggestions to improve it just that the interface sucks for such a good package manager if that makes sense.

Maybe people could also suggest here their own ideas to improve it if people agree.

I would like to see a context menue on right click with options , like install,remve, re install, ect.

IIRC this would be like in synaptic, f.ex.? But this seems to be the first real suggestion.

If you want some suggestions, here they are:
- make the cleanest interface, without a lot of features. it must be useful and non dispersive (something like rigo from sabayon http://tinyurl.com/cx4tg4w or gnome-packagekit), light and fast (for example not like the ubuntu software center)
- make an interface for qt desktop and another one for gtk desktop (i see that is in the features for the new release, hallelujah!)
- do urpmi recharge the packages information every first package manager startup and not meanwhile you use it
- if the package manager will be used like update manager, it assign to updates a safety level, like mintUpdate, to prevent inexperienced users from installing updates that are unnecessary or require a certain level of knowledge to configure properly
- if there will be a tool that informs me when updates are available, make that it be the lightest as possible
