In Mandriva is it a hard job for the average user to install on a tablet PC. In SuSe Linux you can activate the tablet PC option during the DVD installation. It is working out of the box. Maybe the Mageia developers can add this option during installation.

This may be one of the topics to discuss after Mageia 1 release. It is surely worth a thought with the increase of non-i-tablets in the market and the tremendous increase of sales.

Most other installs check to see if there is a Wacom type tablet screen, and if so, they implement it. I chose Mageia for my Toshiba Portege 3500 because everything else just works out of the box, screen, wireless, printing, etc. Very cool. Now for the touch screen stuff.

Currently trying-out Mageia 1 on a tablet PC. Only have 2 USB ports and no ethernet, so one is the Mageia Live distro on a USB stick, and the second is a keyboard.

Tablet Mouse works nice. Haven't quite figured-out how to get the wireless to connect yet, running into a configuration error maybe.
