php apache mysql development enviroment

Postby anonymouse » Apr 30th, '11, 10:11

I have yet to find a distro to suit my needs for a development environment for my webapps.
Right now using ubuntu 9.10 since the newer versions don't offer debs in the repos for php 5.2.x and forces php 5.3 which isn't suited for the cms's i use.

All i propose is that the user will have the option for a "lazy" install of the hole development environment including netbeans.
If the install allows options for the versions you want to use i'll sure as hell donate to this distro and promote it with pleasure.

Thanks for your work on this

Just check about task-lamp-php
+ download netbeans and that's OK

I don't know if Mageia provides PHP 5.2 but why do not use 5.3 ?

Because Joomla 1.5 for instance, doesn't work properly with PHP 5.3

Joomla 1.7 seems to be the latest version. Recommended PHP-version is 5.3
