Unity should be possible, this is free software but this would requires several changes accross all packages. Various attempts to do so have failed, either in Fedora or Opensuse, see
http://ostatic.com/blog/fedora-opensuse ... p-on-unity . Mathieu Bridon who worked on the Fedora packaging is a friend of mine, and is a old time fedora packager. He is perfectly able to do it, but the presence of non upstreamed patched and the need to changes lots of application for supporting Appindicator API cause problem.
Now, nothing prevent this once everything will be pushed upstream but I would not put much hope into that since Unitiy is still a moving target. So I would rather say to people to use Ubuntu if they want Unity ( as they do a good job as a Linux distribution after all, and we are all working together ).
