New logo ?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to propose a new logo design for Mageia and would really appreciate your feedback!

Visual update could be a part of a broader effort to modernize the identity of the distribution, with the revamp of some of its tools that have started to show their age.

I shared other proposals a few years ago on a local French-speaking community (MLO, see belows).

The goal with this new version is to keep things simple, monochrome if needed, and scalable across different size, espacially small size (ie taskbar).

I was not convinced by the half bubble. But it was more "light" with the bubble in light blue.

Very nice! I like the third and fourth in your last image.

I added a new ‘wave’. The last three at the bottom right.
I did move the bubbles slightly for the last two proposals (the ones with the asterisk).

Again moved the bubble fot the last (at the bottom right). It's more spacious, so it's easy to read in small sizes.

Nice work but IMHO the bubbles should stay above cauldron.

Hi piafjaune,
Call me superstitious but the logo from first post (and its variants, except the yin-yang variant) looks like a shutdown button to me The 'mageia' with bubbles over `i` looks cool though.

If I may (and I am not an artist), is it possible to modify capital 'M' such that the legs are crossed/slanted (like in capital 'M' of 'Fira Sans' or similar font) and the dip becomes the cauldron? I also feel that the bubbles should be above cauldron.

EDIT: Just realized the logos from second post do look like what I imagine; if only the cauldron be smaller and fit iside (or form) the dip of letter M. Just couple of bubbles coming out of my pot. Don't mind if it is stupid design.

Hello svzrd,

I kept the original font of the current logo. If any changes need to be made, it should be discussed with the atelier team.

I have had some feedback from them, but nothing for a while now. I don't know if this initiative will go any further : a contest ? several collaborative entries ?
