Hi, i'm using mageia for my desktop and desktop of some my customers; starting from first release of Mandrake, madriva, to now.
I have reed that in the m.9 will be present nextcloud other time, this is great for many applications.
In Mageia8 isn't more present freemind; i have installed from flatpack Freeplane in sostitution; i hope can be insert in official package .
Like desktop , or server, until some version ago, was present Odoo ERP/CRM; i believe that a ERP/CRM like Odoo , be important to be complete of any software .
Oters software that for me should be present, are voice assistant, for go in AI direction. two interesting software about are Kalliope

For freemind, that is long dead upstream. If you installed freeplane via flatpack, why should a package be added instead? A flatpak is usually provided and updated by the software project itself, there's no real advantage for us to repackage that.

well, for me is useful a mental map for job; with flat pack is more difficult maintain update the software.
Many time, for example some software, like signal client, stopping to work, for upgrade necessity, that is necessary make maually.
i don't know how have notice for upgrading and a GUI for easy upgrading flatpack software.

Have a official package could be more simple

Nextcloud: We maintain a nextcloud file sync client package. For the server I recommend the manual method described in our wiki, as we fail to maintain updated package. The described manual method supports nextcloud own updating method. See https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Nextcloud

Mind map: Packaged we have Semantik and Vym. (Found by searching using drakrpm and searching for "mind" in descriptions) There is also a mind map app you can use in Nextcloud server. And as you found out Mageia support Flatpak. And you can use Appimage too.

Regarding Freeplane, yes easily installable using Flatpak.
It is version 10.3 but last is 10.6. (not much difference, but...)
So it seems it is not regularly updated by upstream as Flatpak.

But it is a java program, so we can go to https://sourceforge.net/projects/freeplane/,
download freeplane_bin-1.10.6u1.zip, unpack it, and in that folder launch it by

java -jar freeplanelauncher.jar

It works, but on my system the menu font is ugly, so some parameters need be set.
The shell script does that. So better launch freeplane.sh

Trying to understand how to use semantik.
(I.e the simple thing to put text into nodes - they only show the word "Empty" to me.)
Have anyone found a manual/tutorial?

i have try only to open old file of freeplane with Semantik and Vym;
Vym seem to be perfectly compatible, semantik no;
so i have stopped in testing semantik
file portability is fundamental for me; even for a future software change
