Xonar DX is a 7.1-channels sound card of ASUS. Its panel has a input jack and four output jacks: Front, Side, Center-Subwoofer, Back. It can be connected with the audio jacks of the front panel.
According to its manual, a pair of 2.0-channels speakers or a headphone should be connected with the Front output jack in its panel. But actually only the Side output in the panel has sound when the hardware configuration profile is set to "Analog Stereo Duplex". The result of speakers' test shows that the Side output is recognized as the Front output. When the hardware configuration profile of the sound card is set to "Analog Surround 7.1 Output + Analog Stereo Input", the Front jack in the card's own panel still can't work, the Side output is recognized as the Side output, and the output jack of the front panel is recognized as the Front output of the card.
I tested Fedora Live CD. In Fedora, the sound card's Front output work properly. So the sound card has no hardware problem and in Linux it can work properly. Why can't it work properly in Mageia? Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
